Start with a goodbye....

Oma passed away last Friday. She'd been sick for a while, and I guess I've been preparing myself since April, but it's still a shock. She had a really low blood count last Tuesday, and was in critical care; from there she slipped into a coma, and never woke up again. Mom left for Holland on Saturday, to be with her family. We'll miss her, but she's much better off now. I suppose it's a bit easier for us, since we rarely saw her, but at times like these I'm sure Mom and Dad feel the distance from the family a lot sharper.
